FS#5648 - Need region free setting for DVD player (not BlueRay)
Bonjour
I realize the delicacy of this request, but normally all DVD players (not the BD side, DVD only) comes with a way to open the player to play DVDs for other regions/zones. This would be nice for the freebox v6, but I realize you may not be able to reply officially, but it would be nice with a procedure somewhere on an independent forum howto do.
Normally it is a question of a series of remote control codes, or an “update” to the DVD player flash that changes the region to region free or software control (rpc1)

Effectivement, dezoner le lecteur serait une bonne chose si c’est possible...
On pourrai lire nos DVD achètés pendant nos années vécues a l’étranger ...

It would actually be easy for us to allow region free playback, however we will not do it if we do not have the certainty that it is tolerated to hide it behind a series of remote control codes or something like that.

Depending on how the DVD player is connected, it could either be a question of a series of key presses on the remote after a centralized upgrade of the player, or in worst case, to burn a DVD, with a region free DVD firmware, load it once for all and that’s it.
I think the hiding of the region free feature is such a common thing, that both dvdforum and users will think of it as perfectly normal. Those who have the need will trawl internet, and those who don’t, will live happily ever after with their region locked player. (WHO came up with the region idea in the 1st place should by hung by the ....

ahem - vu qu’il y a pas beaucoup d’activité pour “reparer” ce problème.
Peut-être free pourrait nous informer de la marque du lecteur DVD?((?)
, pour les plus courageux entre nous a tester avec des “mises” ahour depuis rpc1.org
- en gardant en tête tous les soucis garantie, frais de repération etc ça peut ajouter
